What to Expect with Clear Aligner Treatment

Dr. Morgan starts with a thorough examination where he discusses your goals and takes digital x-rays, photos, and scans of your teeth. He gathers this information and uses specialized software to map out how each tooth will move through treatment.

Before you commit to treatment, Dr. Morgan will show you a preview of how your new smile will look after clear aligner therapy. Once you approve the plan, a special dental lab will fabricate your custom aligner trays.

How to Wear Your Clear Aligners

Treatment with clear aligners is straightforward, but it’s crucial to follow instructions carefully. Doing so will ensure that you achieve the desired results in the shortest time. 

  • Wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day.
  • Remove the trays only for meals, oral hygiene, and drinking anything other than water.
  • Switch to the next set of trays every one to two weeks as instructed.
  • Visit Frontier Dental every 6–8 weeks so we can monitor your progress and give you your new sets of aligners.

Treatment time varies by case. Some patients complete treatment in as few as six months, whereas most complete treatment in 12 to 18 months. Dr. Morgan will give you a realistic timeline during your consultation.
